CORTLAND -- A Cortland man is arrested after an early morning confrontation with police.
30-year-old Scott Fairweather was arrested by Cortland County Sheriffs at 12:39 a.m. Saturday. Sheriffs say an officer was on patrol on Weaver Road when he stopped to identify two people walking. Sheriffs say Fairweather was intoxicated and shouted obscenities towards the officer. Fairweather was then was arrested for disorderly conduct.
While in the patrol vehicle, sheriffs say Fairweather kicked the rear door window and broke the window frame. Fairweather was charged with the violation of disorderly conduct and a misdemeanor count of criminal mischief. He is currently awaiting arraignment in the town of cortlandville.
