Thrilling finishes in Softball Sectional Finals

BCC -- While everyone wants to win a state title, winning the section is the next best thing.  Ten teams entered play with a chance to win a Section IV trophy to show off in the school's trophy case.  Only five were able to do so.

In Class AA, Rachel Mouillesseaux pitched a complete game shutout for the U-E Tigers as they beat the Binghamton Patriots 3-0.

After Thursday's Class A Baseball Final saw a huge M-E comeback, the softball team showing that the Spartans really are the comeback kids.  M-E rallied from down two in the 7th to take a 5-3 lead.  Vestal scored on in the 7th but couldn't finish the rally and the Spartans locked up the Section IV Crown.

In Class B, it was the Windsor Black Knights who shutout Waverly 5-0 to win their 3rd straight Section IV Title.  They will look for their 4th State Championship in 10 years.

In the words of Head Coach Chris Sinicki, the Seton Catholic Central Saints "scratched and clawed" their way to their 2nd title in 4 years with the 3-0 win over Elmira Notre Dame.

And finally, in Class D, Afton walked off with a 2-1 win over Deposit.
