ENDWELL -- Parents of little leaguers take a swing at raising money for a local baseball field. After the 2011 flood, the kid's baseball field was left uneven, and the fence around it curled up.
On Sunday, the Endwell Greens Golf Course held the Inaugural Johnson City Youth Baseball Charity Golf Classic. Organizers of the event say it is important to give the kids more opportunity to play ball.
"It helps develop kids in a fantastic way. They learn about team sportsmanship and how to work well together as a team unit," said Melissa Polosky, President of Johnson City Little League Organization.
The new field is expected to be ready for a new baseball season in June.
