BU Freshman Show off Engineering Projects
5/6/2013 (Updated 10:57:26 PM)As the college semester comes to a close, freshman engineering students at BU were able to present their final projects to the public and have a little fun in the process.
BU President Harvey Stenger led a flash mob to kick off the presentation. After flash mob, students were able to share their ideas with the public and fellow students
As an engineer himself, Stenger was eager to meet with the students and talk about their ideas and even enjoyed the singing and dancing.
"What better than to sing 'We are the Champions' by a group of engineering students and having their president be a part of it," Stenger said. I thought it was a fun idea, a little goofy, but a fun idea, but I think they enjoyed it too."
"We get to show everyone how hard we worked in the Engineering Design Division in the freshman class so it's really special to be able to do this," said Katie Leenig, Freshman Engineering Student at BU.
Student groups presented projects in four categories: wearable power system, garbage island, reinventing the toilet and urban transportation vehicle.
