B-Sens Web Feature: Luke Richardson's first year
5/3/2013 (Updated 11:12:59 PM)BINGHAMTON -- It was B-Sens Head Coach Luke Richardson's first season at the helm for Binghamton.
When the team had its exit interviews on Friday afternoon, both the coach and players shared their thoughts on the experience working together.
Richardson said, "The group of players that I was lucky enough to have been given the priviledge to coach -- I think I really created a bond with them. I hope they enjoyed it as much as I did and got as much as I got out of it."
Team Captain Mark Borowiecki adds, "I can't say enough about the job he did for us this year. Luke is a great guy on and off the ice. He's so easily approachable and he's got so much knowledge about the game and the job him and Stirls (Asst. Coach Steve Stirling) did this year is awesome."
David Dziurzynski, who played in a dozen NHL games this year, compliments his AHL coach, "He knows a lot about the game and he's taught me a lot about little things - being a professional. It was a pleasure to have him as a coach this year."
"He has so much experience and he's played the game for so long. I think he's got a great future ahead of him as a coach and I'm looking forward to seeing him progress. He said himself it was a learning experience for him this year and I thought he did really great," said veteran Hugh Jessiman.
Corey Cowick is also appreciative, "I can't thank him enough for the opportunities he's given me. I think you can tell by every player you talk to, the respect he earns, the work ethic he brings to us."
