Cinema Saver Able to Convert from Film to Digital After Phony Grant

A local theater owner says false promises left her out of $40,000 she thought would help with much-needed upgrades for her business.

Amber Earle, the owner of Cinema Saver in Endicott, has converted the theater from film to digital projection.

It's a project that cost more than $200,000. Back in January Cinema Saver won grant money through a contest held by not-for-profit group "Save America's Cinemas", but when it came time to collect owner of Cinema Saver Earle says was given the run around, and no prize money was collected.

"It's so great it's been running for three days. The image is bright, it's clear, it's crisp every single time. The sound is so good.
So we're actually super excited about making this conversion.
It's a really great product," said Owner of Cinema Saver, Amber Earle.

Cinema Saver was able to raise $20,000 dollars. Earle has taken out a $192,000 loan to cover the rest of the cost of the project.
