California Resident Speaks With Fox 40 About Moving Brush Fire
5/2/2013 (Updated 10:44:52 PM)In Ventura County California, a fast moving brush fire that started early Thursday morning continues to burn out of control.
Firefighters say it was a perform storm of conditions that caused the blaze to spread quickly, with high winds, dry brush, and low humidity.
At least seven thousand acres are already charred, but no homes reported lost yet.
We spoke with a resident of nearby Thousand Oaks Thursday night, who works at the Home Depot in Newbury Park, where the fire is raging.
Debra deLeo says emergency crews have told them, the fire is staring to surround the area.
Nearly 600 firefighters were reported at the scene. Wind-blown embers are making it more difficult to contain the blaze.
