BINGHAMTON -- Binghamton University Director of Athletics Patrick Elliott has suspended student-athlete Cody Reed from the wrestling program following his arrest for criminal mischief/criminal trespass. Binghamton Police arrested Reed Friday night, April 5, after he attempted to gain entrance to a building that he mistook for a friends apartment. Reed was issued an appearance ticket for April 16 in Binghamton City Court.
In accordance with Athletics Department policy, Reed was immediately suspended from the wrestling program until further notice for violating the Student-Athlete Code of Conduct.
While under suspension, Reed will not participate in any wrestling activities except to continue all academic services through the Student-Athlete Success Center. Once his case has been adjudicated, Reeds status with the program will be reviewed.
