4/9/2013 (Updated 11:53:31 PM)Calling hours were Tuesday for John Janos, the 57 year old Binghamton firefighter who died over the weekend while on duty at the State Street Fire Station.
The death was due to a cardiac- related problem.
Today, at the J.A. McCormick funeral home in Binghamton, friends came to show their respects, offer their condolences, and recall memories of the man:
"John was the best. John was the best kind of family man you'd want, the best kind of fireman and paramedic you would want, and he was the best kind of friend you would want. He gave everyday to the community with his service through the fire department, and ultimately in the end he gave with his life," said David J. Holleran, Union President.
Janos served with the Binghamton Fire Department for 24 years.
Funeral services are Wednesday at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Binghamton at 10 am.
