Schumer Amphenol Presser
4/2/2013 (Updated 9:42:40 PM)The floods of recent years won't wash away one of the largest employers in Delaware County:
Amphenol Aerospace in Aidney was hit twice by the floods--in 2006 and 2011.
It's in the process of relocating to higher ground in Sidney.
To help with the move, Amphenol will be getting 3.8 million dollars from the federal government.
Senator Charles Schumer was at the plant to announce the funding, which he helped secure.
"It's a blessing to have such a large prominent manufacturer in such a rural area. And to take this, to have them not be here or have them decline as a major competitor would be for the devastating area, which is why I felt so strongly about it," said Senator Charles Schumer.
Schumer says the money will help save a thousand Amphenol jobs in Sidney.
