Binghamton University is StormReady
3/20/2013 (Updated 10:51:20 PM)Rain or snow, Binghamton University is ready.
The University is StormReady, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
This means the school has a system to monitor severe weather and has developed several ways to handle severe weather and notify faculty and students.
"As far as outreach and education, they've done quite a bit of that with the students too as well," said David Nicosia, Warning Coordination Meteorologist at NOAA Binghamton. "People know what to do so it really helps them be proactive before the storm hits,"
StormReady is a national program. BU is the third university in New York to earn the title.
