BU Wrestling Gears up for NCAAs: Part 4

VESTAL -- The fourth wrestler in our series is senior Bearcat Donnie Vinson. He'll have a 3 seed in the tournament -- the highest ranking ever for a BU wrestler.

Vinson, a reigning All American and third place finisher at last year's nationals, will face unseeded Ian Paddock of Ohio State in the 149-pound preliminary bout.

Donnie Vinson has a reputation to uphold and a bit of a target on his back, so coach Matt Dernlan has focused on keeping his mind off competition, "It's really just trying to keep Donnie on an even keel, keeping him emotionally balanced, really not making too much of this event."

Vinson does not seem phased, "This year I've really just isolated myself, I haven't talked to anyone about the tournament or anything like that online. Actually I literally just sat in my house for the past five or six days."

His record versus this year's NCAA field is 8-1.
