Fire Official: Mother and Child Escape Injury in Endicott Fire

A woman an child are safe after a fire Monday night in Endicott just across the street from Gault Chevrolet.
 
The blaze was reported shortly after 7:30 Monday evening at John Stilloe Roofing and Siding, at 2502 North Street.

The fire began on the first level, where the business is, and spread to the second floor where there are apartments.

According to an Endicott fire official, a woman and young child were believed to be inside at the time, but escaped without injury.

Fire investigators were on the scene asking about reports that work activities, including  painting and varnishing were taking place in the structure structure earlier in the day.
