Locals React to Pope's Resignation
2/28/2013 (Updated 3/1/2013 4:19:32 PM)
His resignation made history as this is the first time in six centuries a pope has resigned.
Some local Catholics have their eyes on the future. The principal of Seton Catholic Central High School says it's not important what country the next pope comes from but what qualities he has, something the students at the school discussed.
"Are you a good communicator? Are you charasmatic? Can you pull people into your message? I think those are all really important qualities and obviously for the Pope- are you an individual who has a solid moral and theological foundation," said Richard Bucci, Principal of Seton Catholic Central High School.
"Who's a deeply spiritual man, who's a man of prayer, who's open to the moving of the Holy Spirit- that's what we need for a Pope," said Deacon Ed Blaine, St. James.
The church's College of Cardinals will meet on Monday to plan the Conclave. The Vatican hopes to have a new pope installed before holy week.
