Fracking Issue Follow Preston's Comprehensive Plan

CHENANGO -- Those opposed to Broome County Executive Debbie Preston's Office of Energy Development aren't taking a break from their protests over it.
Tuesday at Chenango Town Hall, as her staff members were presenting the county's comprehensive plan, there were calls from anti-frackers to open the discussion on the real function of the energy office, which they say will be a way of encouraging gas drilling in the county. They vow to do something about it:
"Earlier today, we dropped off 200 petition signatures against the creation of Deb Preston's Energy Office. We feel that it is a front to promote fracking, in-house and in-house office to push Deb's personal agenda of fracking," said Isaac Silberman-Gorn, the leader of the petition drive.
Preston insists that the energy office will look objectively at all energy sources.
