BU Holds Bhangra Fever 4

Dance troops from all over the country and one even from Canada made their way to Binghamton University Saturday.
 
For the fourth year--  BU's North Indian Dance Team hosted an international Bhangra competition.  Organizers say its one of the most accomplished lineups they have ever had.  The groups will be performing a traditional folk dance that originated in the Indian state of Punjab.

"Whenever there would be a festival or wedding or anything  like that, farmers would go out to the festival or into their village and just dance and this was the dance," says Damanpreet Arora, competition organizer.

The winner of the competition will take home a $1500 cash prize and move on to another competition.
