Locals Celebrate Ash Wednesday
2/13/2013 (Updated 6:47:56 PM)
At Seton Catholic High School, students took part in a special mass.
Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lenten season, the ashes are supposed to symbolize that people start from and will return to dust showing that there is something greater out there.
"Lent to me is a period of abstinence where you reflect on yourself and how you can make a difference in the world. So when you're among your friends, your family, and all of you share the same belief it creates a bond," said Akiirayi Atemoyo from Seton Catholic High School.
That young man at Seton Catholic says that he's giving up cookies and his I-phone for Lent.
