DeSisti Competent to Stand Trial for Double Shotgun Slayings

An elderly Waverly man will stand trial for the shotgun slayings of two of his relatives in Athens Township.

75 year old John DeSisti has been ruled mentally competent by Bradford County Judge Jeffrey Smith.

DeSisti is accused of killing his cousin, Carol Keeffe and her husband David--who was a prominent attorney in Sayre.

The double-murder happened in november of 2006.
