VESTAL -- This afternoon members of the Bearcats softball team met with the media to discuss the 2013 season.
After missing the America East Tournament last season, the team is eager to get back on the field and looking to veteran leadership to guide its freshmen. Today upperclassmen Jessica Phillips and Mikala King discussed their goal of both hosting and winning the conference tournament.
Head Coach Michelle Burrell said her team needs to play more relaxed and without expectations, and believes her team is ready to do that.
The season gets underway Feb 15 as the Bearcats travel to sunny Florida for the FIU/Felsberg Memorial Tournament. The first home game at the Bearcats brand new facility is March 28 against Niagra.
