Blood Donation Month: Get a Pound of Coffee for a Pint of Blood

Extra recognition this month for those donating blood:.

According to the Red cross, only four percent of the population that can donate blood does so.

Now, the Red Cross has launched a campaign aimed at increasing  awareness, and paying tribute to those who donate:

"And it's our way to honor what we consider our quiet heroes, and those are our volunteer blood donors who take time out of their busy schedules. There's nothing in it for them except the good feeling that they helped someone out there somewhere," said customer service representative for the American Red Cross, Sheila Sullivan.
 
As an extra incentive Dunkin' Donuts teamed up with the Red Cross for the "Give a Pint, Get a Pound" campaign.

Those who donate blood will receive a coupon for a free pound of Dunkin' Donuts coffee through the month of January.
