UPDATE: Cuomo's Ambitious State of the State

New York can lead the way-- that's what Governor Cuomo says about the new gun control restrictions he's proposing-- they'd be the toughest in the nation.
Fox 40's Ali Warner was in Albany Wednesday, as Andrew Cuomo laid out his plans for gun control, and other issues, in his State of the State address:

"It's about ending the unnecessary risk of high capacity assault riffles, that's what it's about," says Gov. Cuomo.
STRICTER GUN CONTROL LAWS- JUST ONE OF THE ISSUES GOVERNOR CUOMO ADDRESSED IN WHAT HE CALLED HIS MOST AMBITIOUS AGENDA YET IN N HIS STATE OF THE STATE ADDRESSES.
"We have a 7 point agenda.  Number 1 to enact the toughest assault riffle ban in the nation, period," says Cuomo.
HE SAYS HE WANTS TO  ELIMINATE LOOP HOLES TO STRENGTHEN THE BAN ON HIGH CAPACITY MAGAZINES. "Guns are a very hot issue.  I was pleased to see that he said he didn't want to affect what sportsmen do because we have a lot of sportsmen in the Southern Tier and at the same time we need to put criminals who commit crimes with guns in jail.  I am hoping we can achieve these things," says Libous.
THE GOVERNOR ALSO ADDRESSED REVITALIZING UPSTATE NEW YORK
AND SUPPORTS
RAISING THE MINIMUM WAGE  FROM 7.25 TO 8.75.
HE ALSO WANTS A MARKETING PLAN MARKETING PLAN THAT INCLUDES DUTY FREE SHOPS THAT SELL LOCALLY GROWN AND PRODUCED PRODUCTS.  HE ALSO SAYS ITS IMPORTANT TO BRING TOURISM UP NORTH.
GOVERNOR CUOMO PROPOSED BRINGING 3 CASINOS UPSTATE.  HE SAYS 90% OF THE REVENUE FROM CASINOS WOULD GO TOWARDS EDUCATION AND 10 PERCENT WOULD GO TO LOCAL TAX RELIEF.
"I'd like to see  Tioga Downs become a full blow casino and I'm sure that they'll be applying," says Rep. Lupardo. "You know the success Tioga Downs has had in the Southern Tier  has been fantastic for Tioga County and the Southern Tier.  I worry a little bit about that because I want to hear the whole thing.  Certainly a casino could be  detrimental to a place like Tioga," says Libous.
THE GOVERNOR ALSO SPOKE ABOUT IMPROVING THE STATES EDUCATION SYSTEM WITH LONGER DAYS OR SCHOOL YEARS.
