Vestal Ave Crash

No injuries, except to a large light pole in the middle of the vestal Parkway on Wednesday.

It happened late in the afternoon, when an SUV smashed into the pole near the intersection with South Washington Avenue, right by the former Hollywood Video Store.

We approached two people who were in the vehicle but they didn't want to talk with Fox 40.

However, a resident of the neighborhood says the driver swerved into the pole, when it appeared that there was something wrong with the SUV.

"This one is a fluke, this time.  I guess he got paranoid.  He got scared because of the fact that his car started smoking, so he kind of jerked his wheel, and he came upon that...he was no a straightaway," said Bob Robert.

Bob Robert said he's seen many more accidents just a bit farther up the parkway--as it goes into the turn.  Some have been minor, but a number have been serious, and even fatal.
