The Pirates capitalized on a power play at 6:10 in the first period to open the games scoring. Forward Brendan Shinnimin was credited with the goal with assists from Alexandre Bolduc and Ethan Werek. Portland wouldnt hold the lead long as it took just 29 seconds for B-Sens forward Pat Cannone to tie the game up at one.
The B-Sens took the lead at 5:33 of the second frame as Cannone fired his second goal of the game (and fifth on the season) past Portland backstop Mark Visentin. Assists were credited to Jakob Silfverberg and Mike Hoffman. Forward Hugh Jessiman expanded Binghamtons lead at 13:18 with helpers from Corey Cowick and Cannone.
The games next goal came off the stick of B-Sens defenseman Patrick Wiercioch at 10:00 of the third with assists from Andre Benoit and Jessiman during a power play. Silfverberg added a goal of his own at 12:24, also on a power play chance, with assists from Wiercioch and Jessiman.
