Binghamton Mayor Matt Ryan continues to defend his request to council for a five-thousand dollar stipend to help him with travel expenses.
The mayor says he's entitled to a city car or mileage so far, the mayor says he's only been reimbursed for mileage when he's taken long trips to Albany on city business..
"I'm in a financial point where I could use what I'm entitled to and I suggested a pathway forward last year which was a stipend, which I calculated to be about what it would cost the city or a little less to provide the mayor a car each year," said Binghamton Mayor Matt Ryan.
The mayor declined the use of a city car when he first took office.
Recently, city council did approve a 21-hundred dollar raise recently for the mayor.
