Day One of Joseph Ross-Jones Murder Trial

Prosecution called a handful of witnesses Tuesday as the murder trial of Joseph Ross-Jones began.

Ross-Jones is accused of murdering Daniel Martinez in October of 2011.

Martinez's girlfriend Sasha Perez testified that Martinez and Ross Jones were supposed to meet a few days after Ross-Jones returned from a drug deal in Arizona.

But Martinez never came home from that meeting. The next day, Perez saw Ross-Jones at the Oakdale Mall and said Ross-Jones was hesitant to approach her. 

Testimony from prosecution witnesses will continue Wednesday.
