Visitors At Binghamton Zoo Get Up Close And Personal With Tigers

Its not often that you get a behind the scenes tour of the Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park.

But today visitors got a chance to get up close and personal with Koosazka and Tierny, two mur tigers from eastern Europe.  They also had a chance to learn some interesting facts about the tigers, including how they are fed and maintained.

"Taking care of zoo animals is a very complex and in a lot of cases a very costly thing.  It's very expensive to maintain animals.  We want people to realize what their money is going towards, that paying the admission is going to more than just what they see out there day to day in their end." said David Orndorff, General Curator of the Binghamton Zoo.

This is the last weekend the zoo will be open.  Officials say they will re-open sometime in the spring.
