Schumer fights for Veterans, saving the expiring tax credits for businesses that hire Vets
11/20/2012 (Updated 10:31:28 PM)
Schumer announced his plans for the campaign today at Sanmina-Sci, a company that receives up to $9,600 per vet hired.
The returning heroes and wounded warriors tax credits program has been successful in getting companies to hire veterans, who Schumer says are invaluable employee:
"They know teamwork. They know hard work. They know sacrifice. They know courage. And they know that following an order as part of the team is very important for the overall good," said Schumer.
"[They] also come with skill-sets that are easily adapted to our industry here in Owego," said Vice President General Manager at Sanmina, Mark Gable.
The tax credits are set to expire at the end of this year.
