An Expert In Self Defense Teaches Locals Some Moves

Did you ever wonder how you would react if you were assaulted or attacked?  On Saturday in Vestal an expert in self-defense showed locals how to defend themselves in real-life situations.
   
The power of One MMA hosted a seminar by Rory Miller, an internationally recognized expert in preventing and de-escalating  violence.  Miller who's served as a Corrections Officer and a Tactical Team Leader taught people how to observe and understand different violent situations. The group then had an opportunity to act out several fighting scenarios.

"One of the things is what you're vulnerable to, what will people be looking at you for, what that approach is going to look like, how the set-up is going to be, how they're going to try to psychologically control you to keep you from fighting and then giving yourself permission to break their rules and do whatever you have to do," said Rory Miller, founder of Chiron Training.
