Entrepreneurs from all over the Southern Tier gathered at the Riverwalk Hotel in Binghamton Saturday to put together a plan for a start up business.
About 60 attendees worked in teams to create business models, pitch their ideas, and receive coaching from local entrepreneur leaders. Start Up Weekend is a worldwide movement of entrepreneurs who are learning the basics of founding start ups and launching successful ventures.
"It's something I've been working on. I pitched it to a college professor and he said I need to go to startup weekend," said Team Leader Peter Michael.
"It really creates an entrepreneurial community and boosts moral in the entrepreneurial world. And we're trying to create a sustainable culture for entrepreneurs in Binghamton," said Co-organizer Joe Garrant
On Sunday the judges will pick three winning teams, who will all receive cash prizes.
