They dressed in costumes and raced through the haunted trails of Highland Park in Endwell. Known as the Monster Dash the 3.3 mile race was all in an effort to raise money for the Homer Brink Elementary School PTA.
Their goal was to raise between $1000.00 and $1500.00 dollars to fund events like field trips, a sockhop as well as pay for classroom supplies.
"Its just a great way to enhance our learning experience and some of the kids don't have the chance to do some of the things with their family. So, its a great way to allow them to enrich their learning. We even got a NYC marathoner because it was cancelled, and I was happy to have him show up." said Amy Derkowski, Chairperson of the Monster Dash.
Prizes were awarded to the top 3 male and female finishers.
