Union Endorsements for both Congressional Candidates
11/1/2012 (Updated 11/2/2012 2:44:45 AM)
Republican Congressman Richard Hanna got the nod from the Carpenters Union local 277 at the Park Diner in Binghamton today.
Meanwhile his Democratic opponent Dan Lamb announced support from 14 unions today, including the New York State AFL-CIO and the Public Employees Federation.
Hanna says when he ran his construction business, unions provided the most consistent source of skilled labor..
"Consistently good, experienced help with the tools they need, the information they need, the background, the unions provided that," said Hanna.
Lamb claims Hanna has voted against AFL-CIO interests 79 percent of the time.
Hanna says he supports union interests like the davis-bacon act which requires the payment of prevailing wages on federal projects.
