B-Sens blanked in by Monarchs

MANCHESTER, N.H.  The Binghamton Senators were shutout by the Manchester Monarchs, 4-0, at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Sunday evening.

The Monarchs jumped to a 2-0 lead in the first period as Brandon Kozun and Andy Andreoff scored goals at 11:02 and 13:20 respectively.

Just 55 seconds into the second period the Monarchs would extend their lead to 3-0 as Andrei Loktionov scored to make it a 3-0 game.  Kozun drew the secondary assist on the goal to earn his second point of the game.

In the third period, just four seconds into a Monarchs power play Tyler Toffoli would score to give Manchester a 4-0 edge over Binghamton.  His goal stood as the final of the evening.

Ben Bishop started in goal for the B-Sens making 34 saves on 38 shots.  Monarchs starting goaltender Martin Jones earned his sixth career American Hockey League shutout stopping all 29 Binghamton shots.

The B-Sens see action again on Friday, Nov. 2 as they play the first of back-to-back road games against the Norfolk Admirals.  Game time is 7:30 p.m.
