BU's Swain looks to fill leadership role

VESTAL -- On campus, the BU Women's Basketball Team continues to prepare for its season, as the team looks to fill the void of losing key players like Andrea Holmes and Viive Rebane.

One player the Bearcats will look towards to fill in that void is junior guard Jasbriell Swain.

"I don't think I took the right steps last year to be the best player I can be," said Swain.  "I feel like this year I'm really putting in the work that I know I need to put in because I know I have to be that much better because we did lose four seniors and three starters."

"Jazz is also very big into being a team player," said Nicole Scholl, BU's head coach. "She knows while she has a lot of experience for us, the team is only going to be as good as bringing the rest of the team along with her."

The Bearcats kick of their season with an exhibition game Nov. 6 at home against Mansfield.
