Students From Buffalo Travel To Southern Tier To Rebuild Homes

It's been more than a year since the flood and there are still many homes in the area in need of assistance.

Students and volunteers from the University at Buffalo traveled cross state to Apalachin to lend a helping hand.  This is the fourth time students from Buffalo came to the Owego area to assist in rebuilding flood damaged homes.

"It's not about money or anything like that you know, it's about serving." said volunteer Donnell Amiker.

"The cool thing about coming back several times is after you've worked in some people's houses a few times, you come back later and you see how that work you've done the first time around has made a huge impact in their lives, so that's a big reason that come back several times." said Timothy Stewart, Campus Minister.

Stewart says they'll most likely come back for a fifth time in the near future.  The team is made up of students and community members from the university's campus ministry.
