VESTAL -- Just a few days after two BU basketball players were suspended after a run-in with police over the weekend, the athletic department confirmed Robert Mansell will redshirt the upcoming season.
Mansell led the Bearcats in scoring last season before injuring his knee in BU's final home game of the season.
When he returns in the 2013-14 season, Mansell will still have two years of eligibility left.
Without Mansell, Binghamton certainly faces an uphill battle as the team will be without four of its top five leading scorers from last year, after three of them transferred from the program at the end of last school year.
The BU Basketball Program kicks of the 2012-13 season with Late Night Madness at the Events Center Friday night.
