The Junior League of Binghamton is an organization of women that's dedicated to promoting volunteerism and developing the potential of women.
On Sunday the organization celebrated 80 years of service to the community with a brunch. Those involved with the organization say over the years they have taken on several long term projects such as The Story Garden as well as smaller initiatives and they're striving to make a difference in the community.
"I am just so impressed that the ladies who founded the Junior League 80 years ago stressed volunteerism, service to the community and helping the less fortunate. They also emphasized training volunteers so that women could go out after they joined the Junior League and join the boards of non-profits and other community welfare agencies. " said Pat O'Connor-Allen, Jr. League Sustainer.
On October 17th the Junior League will hold an information session called "Focus on Wellness" at their office on Main Street in Johnson City.
