Local Artists Showcase Their Talent At Arts & Crafts Festival
9/23/2012 (Updated 10:36:32 PM)Local artists had a chance to show case their work this weekend at the Two Rivers Fine Arts and Crafts Festival at the Roberson Museum and Science Center in Binghamton.
Thousands of people came out to check out the various arts and crafts that close to 50 artists had on display. There was plenty of work to admire, including paintings, photography and jewelry as well as pottery and glass. Visitors could also create their own pottery pots.
"Do we want to live in a community where our only options are Walmart? Look at all these wonderful people doing fabulous things," said local artist Reva Reid.
"People are realizing that Binghamton is a cultural hub. Between the museum, the opera, and the philharmonic. Just the talents of the artists themselves. This area really is thriving," said Roberson Marketing Director Jason Fiumy.
The museum was also offering visitors a 50 percent discount off the admission price over the weekend.
