Mets Announce Player Development Contract with Las Vegas

NEW YORK -- The New York Mets announced Monday evening that they had agreed to a new Player Development Contract for their Triple-A Affiliate to move to Las Vegas.
Previously, the Mets had spent the last four seasons with their Triple-A affiliate in Buffalo.
This means players called up from Double-A Binghamton to Triple-A now must travel a few time zones, instead of just a few hours.
The Mets have had prior experience with the Pacific Coast League when their Triple-A affiliate was in New Orleans from 2007-08.
The deal with the Las Vegas 51's is for two seasons.
