Strong Storms Damage Tioga County
9/7/2012 (Updated 11:13:15 PM)
A microburst swept in just feet from Trista Broughton's home at the top of Day Hollow Road.
She was watching from the back door with her daughter when she thought she saw a funnel cloud begin to form.
Just seconds later, the wind ripped a tree from its roots and a branch hit Broughton's car smashing most of the windows.
However, she says that this is still easier to deal with than a flood, even after seeing her 15-foot trampoline just outside the door, take flight and sail over the house.
"I was looking out the sliding glass doors and when it lifted I told the kids to run to the back because we don't have a basement. I thought for sure we were just going to hear smashing through the sliding glass doors, but I didn't hear anything. So we look out the other side of the trailer and it landed in the back field for just a second and it was just gone. And we still can't find it,there's like four and a half acres out there. It's just gone."
