Richard Hanna Responds to Dan Lamb on Fracking

It's been reported that New York State may soon permit the controversial drilling technique known as hydro-fracturing.

Opponents of the procedure including Congressional Candidate Dan Lamb say it's unsafe, and poses a serious risk to the environment, especially when it comes to our drinking water. 

Lamb, who's running against Congressman Richard Hanna for the 22nd District says the congressman can not be an objective advocate for the people of New York. 

He says Hanna  has invested close to 2 million dollars in the oil and gas industry and holds stock in many of the companies that want to drill here.

But the congressman brushed off the question.

"I would imagine every federal employee owns stock in an oil company some place in their portfolio" said Congressman Richard Hanna.

But Hanna's opponent, Dan Lamb believes the statewide moratorium on drilling should remain in place, and comprehensive public health, environmental and economic impact studies should be conducted.
