Police: Friends Cashed Bad Checks for Pal

If  a friend or acquaintance asks you to cash a check for them: be careful.
 
Police in Vestal say several pals of Nicholas Brown learned that the hard way.
Investigators say the Binghamton man convinced several people to:
-- cash checks against their own accounts...
-- then give him the money.
When the checks turned out to be phony, the victims were forced to make good on them with their own cash,
totaling almost 4-thousand bucks.
The 22-year-old is now charged with scheme to defraud.
