Fourteen-Year-Old Girl Needs Help Finding Missing Horse
8/28/2012 (Updated 11:06:39 PM)
Ghostie has been missing since last Wednesday in the Owego-Apalachin area.
Megan Klett, Ghostie's owner says the whole community has been on the look-out, but no luck so far. "I want to thank everybody for helping me try find him and just pray that we find him soon," said Megan.
Ghostie was boarded at Megan's riding instructor, Susan Deakin's farm, Hidden Farms. Megan was taking riding lessons with Ghostie because her other horse had a sprained ankle.
Last Wednesday, Deakin took Ghostie for what was supposed to be a lovely trail ride, but after an hour on the trail, something spooked Ghostie. "He took off from me. He went from about 0 to 90 in about a tenth of a second," said Deakin. Deakin had to bail off of the horse, and doing so she cracked a few bones.
According to the Craiglist ad posted about his disappearance, he would have had a black synthetic saddle and a brown leather bitless bridle on him. He may be very shy and scared. He could be anywhere in the vicinity of Pennsylvania Avenue, near Chestnut Ridge in Apalachin, all the way cross-country to Montrose Turnpike in Owego where he lives.
