Elmira Man Accused of Gas Attack

ELMIRA -- Police arrest an Elmira man who they say broke open a gas pipe in a house while his girlfriend and her three kids were inside.
 
Giovanni Jefferson, 30, is charged with harassment, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief, and endangering the welfare of a child.
Authorities say the house filled with gas, but the woman and children were able to get out.

The incident occurred on Water Street in Elmira and began with a domestic dispute just after 3 am Sunday morning.
