Petco Celebrates 100th Adoption
8/18/2012 (Updated 11:11:56 PM)
Flutterbyes Animal Rescue joined families and other pet adoption agencies to celebrate the 100 dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, mice and rats that have found new homes through the program.
In celebration of National Homeless Pet Day Petco had all kinds of festivities for the family to enjoy.
Attendees could also adopt pets at the the event. All of the donations from the day will go to Flutterbyes and the adoption agencies.
"There's a lot of animals in shelters. Some shelters will kill animals after a week if they don't adopt. This way the animal goes to somebody and it can give some care and comfort to customers at home." said Dennis Power, Petco's General Manager.
If you did not make it out to today's event Petco officials encourage you to call their store or local adoption agencies for more information on how to adopt a pet.
