Gun in Bag Causes Scare at Binghamton Airport

An Apalachin man got himself in trouble with the law and caused a checkpoint at the Binghamton Airport to be shut down Tuesday morning.

Investigators say Jared Sibrava attempted to carry a loaded pistol on to a plane.

According to Broome Homeland Security the 30-year-old is a frequent flier and says he just didn't realize the gun was in his bag.

Sibrava is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon.
