Union-Endicott Students Looking For Appeal
8/6/2012 (Updated 11:25:34 PM)
On Monday, the students, their families, and Attorney Ron Benjamin pleaded the case to the school board to have the suspension lifted.
"We never said anything about guns except the gun in the game and hunting. That's basically it." said Vincent Osborn, one of the suspended students.
"I'm planning on either being a lawyer or an engineer and you have to get into a good college, but if they see that on your record, they're going to say 'no'. So, it's definitely going to effect us in some way." said David Terwilliger, the other of the two students.
"We were disappointed that the board did not allow us to put on a witness that would of exonerated both boys. And, right now, we just have to wait for a decision. If the decision is reversed, they're back in school. If not, we'll push it further." said Benjamin in an interview.
Monday's hearing was closed to the media.
According to Benjamin, the school board says that they will make a decision in a timely manner.
Superintendent Suzanne McLeod released a statement saying the school district will have no comment and will not take any questions.
