A Homer Man Facing Animal Cruelty Charges

A Cortland County man has been arrested and is now facing animal cruelty charges.
   
Authorities say 62 year old Joseph Thomas Jr. of Scott Road of Homer shot his neighbor's dog with a pellet rifle causing unjustifiable injury to the canine.

The incident happened just over two weeks ago and if convicted of this misdemeanor Thomas could face up to one year behind bars and a one thousand dollar fine.
