Letters From Civil War Leave an Impression at Rotary
7/24/2012 (Updated 7/25/2012 3:19:16 PM)
Tuesday at a meeting of the Binghamton Rotary: Windsor's Historical Coordinator read excerpts from civil war letters.
The letters were written to family and friends by eight of the 400 Civil War volunteers who came from Windsor.
"I started reading those letters and they're just wonderful. They're heartfelt and they give us a feeling of the Civil War that you don't get in history books....very personal," said Eileen Ruggieri Windsor's Historical Coordinator.
You can check out the original copies of the letters and other Civil War relics at the Old Stone House Museum in Windsor.
