Police Say Man Tried To Set Home On Fire

A Town of Binghamton man is behind bars.  Broome County Sheriff's say 40 year old Richard Hadley poured gasoline over himself and all over the basement and was attempting to use a lighter to set his house on fire at  411 Park Avenue.

On Saturday he was arrested after police responded to a domestic call at the residence.  A judge issued an order of protection against him and he was advised not to return to the home or have contact with his wife.  However, after bail was posted he returned and destroyed everything inside.

Authorities say several family members were home at the time he tried to set it on fire.  He's facing several charges and is being held without bail at the Broome County prison.
