The family of Robert Leone held a fundraiser on Saturday to help offset the costs of protesting his case in the state capital.
A You Tube video shows Leone allegedly being beaten by police in Bradford County Pennsylvania back in 2010. He is currently in prison serving up to a 4 year sentence. Friends and family of Leone gathered to show support for his case. His parents keep him up to date on their efforts and they say he's expressed gratitude.
"He knows about everything. He already called us about an hour ago."
"And he's so happy and wants everyone to be thanked for supporting him. It's the only thing that's keeping him going and gives him hope. Once it goes national with the news-- CNN and NBC etc-- this is going to go off the cliff because we have evidence and we've got all the witnesses." said Frank and Joan Leone, Robert's parents.
Those in attendance bought t-shirts and food while listening to live music performed by friends of Leone. The money raised will go to pay for Leone's family travelling to Harrisburg to protest his case.
